Saved from our sins or saved "with our sins"?

Christ came to save us from our sins. Not "with our sins" and definitely not to save sins.

---

Mat 1:21 "And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins."

---

If we still sin, we may be "saved" but we are not yet saved "from our sins". Sin still leads to sickness and death.

---

Rom 6:16 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one's slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?

---

Hence James says confess if you want to see healing:

---

James 5:16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

---

The cross and blood of Christ Jesus do indeed bring us forgiveness and cleansing from unrighteousness. But they do not set aside the judgment of God. The desire to escape God's judgment is understandable but it is selfish and evil.

---

Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment

...

1 Pet 4:17 For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?

...

2 Cor 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

...

Rom 14:10 But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

Rom 14:11 For it is written: "As I live, says the LORD, Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God."

Rom 14:12 So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.

---

We can face it now or later. I say now is much better.

Whoever abides "in Christ" or "walks in the Spirit" or however you want to term it, does not sin. But we still have free choice hence the admonitions to choose that path. (God does not seek robots - He can fill the universe with them quicker than we can blink!)

---

Gal 5:16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

Gal 5:17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.

...

Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

...

John 15:4 "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

John 15:5 "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

John 15:6 "If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.

John 15:7 "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

John 15:8 "By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.

John 15:9 "As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.

John 15:10 "If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love.

...

1 John 2:28 And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.

...

1 John 3:5 And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin.

1 John 3:6 Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.

---

We may have been "saved", but we still have to face death and judgment so it is better to let God have his way now!

---

Rev 3:19 "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.
